Flamingo Bar & BBQ
2021Pitch for a restaurant branding that due to the pandemic never came to life. The brief was riding on the ongoing 80s revival wave, so I thought about that “South American Miami Vice Style” I grew up with. Cheesy and stylish at the same time.
Behind the scenes —
I saw artworks where somebody was creating elephants with geometric shapes. Turned out the iconic silhouette of a flamingo works perfectly well for that as well. For the typography I wanted to combine an 80s-style script typeface with a very straight modern counterpart and ended up with Ewelvian by Kelly Reed and DDC Hardware by Aaron Draplin and Riley Cran.
